About the Village:
South Range is located in Houghton County in the western part of Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. South Range was platted in 1902 by the Whealkate Mining Company. We're a community of 750 people in the UP's Copper Country with access to many outdoor activities including snowmobiling, cross country, hunting, downhill skiing, fishing, boating, all-terrain vehicles, swimming, baseball, and so much more. Beautiful Lake Superior is just miles away, as is Houghton, MI, the site of Michigan Technological University. All of this and more makes South Range the perfect destination for year-round fun and a wonderful place to call home!
